Linda loves creek and small stream fishing with the 3 weights. Aside from working as a nurse, Linda also helps Rainbow Bend with reservations, keeping the books and keeping me on task.
When we're not working we're fishing, often on expedition trips like this one in the picture below. This is Linda casting the 5 weight and hooking up with some trout on the Snake River in Hells Canyon on a recent 10 day trip. One highlight of this trip is all the while she's fishing this spot, Linda is unaware she is being observed by the herd of Big Horns right behind her!!

I'm celebrating my 33rd year of guiding in 2010, the last 17 years on the Deschutes. I'm originally from Flagstaff, Arizona where I started out as a whitewater raft guide rowing 14 day trips through the Grand Canyon. This is why I love multi-day trips so much - time to relax and spend lots of time with your line in the water. To me even a three day trip is too short!
I've also worked as an EMT and still study and practice First Responder medicine. I met Linda while co-instructing a class at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend where Linda a a nurse and I am a faculty member. For me, being an instructor and a professional guide are very much alike. The sharing of information in a common interest is FUN!
I've guided many casting schools, walk in trips, day trips and multi day trips for our local fly shops in and outfitters in the Bend/Sisters area. Many of these days were spent with an emphasis on education. I've also guided experienced fisherman who just need to be pointed to the right spots with maybe a fly recomendation. What I've learned about flyfishing is whether it's your first time flyfishing or you think you've mastered that presentation of that fly to the fish, there's still more to be learned!!
From the newcomer to the sport to the most experienced, my job is first and foremost to get you down the river safely. Next is to have as much FUN as possible and finally, to catch fish. I've learned that every flyfisher, whether they know it or not, are hooked for life to a truly great sport. I look forward to sharing my love of the sport and what knowledge and experience I have with you. As much as I love to teach, I also know how important it is to make sure you get those peaceful moments when it's just you, mother nature and a fly rod in hand!
Let's go fishin!
